"Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and RICHES, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing"(Revelations 5:12)
The riches of Christ were made available when on the cross he shed his blood and became poor for us. 26 times this word "riches" appeared in the New Testament and 11 times out of this the word "riches" was used in relation to what Christ did for us, that's about almost 50 percent of the times the word was used. It's either used as the "riches of Christ" or his "unsearchable riches". In whatever form it is used it root word meant same: FULLNESS, WEALTH, ABUNDANCE, RICHNESS, VALUABLE BESTOWMENT etc.
In a sense, the riches of Christ imply all that God can ever have made available to us in Christ Jesus! It is his spiritual inexhaustible resources from which all of our physical needs are met. No wonder Paul declared in Philippians 4:19 that "my God will supply ALL YOUR NEEDS according to his RICHES in glory!"
Our human needs can never exhaust the resources of heaven! His riches swallow up our needs! Therefore, our deprivation in life is a function of lack of revelation! When we understand the extent of His riches we will never struggle with needs!
By his shed blood, he took away our needs and fills us with his riches! A revelation of this will end every form of deprivation! This is one of the things that Paul prayed for the Ephesians Church, that they understand the extent of what these riches are (Ephesians 1:17-18).
‘That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power’
No explanation, only revelation, can bring us into full comprehension of the riches of Christ made available to us by the blood!
This revelation is enough to end every form of deprivation and poverty in our lives, spiritual and every wise!
