‘Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and STRENGTH and honor, and glory, and blessing’ (Revelation 5:12).
The blood covenant is the greatest stronghold there is, Zechariah 9:11-12 tells us to turn to our greatest stronghold - the blood of Jesus that enacted the new covenant!
‘11 As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. 12 turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even today do I declare that I will render double unto thee’ 13 When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man. 14 And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. 15 The LORD of hosts shall defend them, and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar. 16 And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.
A stronghold is the place of strength, albeit a place of concentrated strength. Stronghold is s combination of two words= strong + hold. The word strong comes from the word 'strength'. Hold simply means where something is held or kept. A stronghold is, therefore, a place where your strength is stored predominantly! This is what the blood of Jesus is to us - a place of stored strength!
Sometimes a stronghold, a place of stored strength, is often the last resort for an army! Because it is a fortified place for security and survival! Once an army is within the perimeter of its stronghold it’s always hard to defeat it! Because such a place is fortified with stored strength!
This was why in Revelations 12:11 when all options had been exhausted the army of God turn to their greatest stronghold, the blood of Jesus, and from this place of stored strength victory was procured!
‘11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death’
The blood of Jesus delivered strength to us; it is our stronghold on the day of battle! We can draw from its stored strength to silence the antics of the devil! Turn to your stronghold for today God will render double to you!
Are you trouble? Wearied? Pressed down? Challenge by the enemy? Wriggling under its torment? Affliction? Sickness? Depression? There are respite and victory in the blood of Jesus! Selah
