There is that popular old school song which is very relevant to the word we are considering today. Its a simple song with simple lyrics:

All I need is a WORD from Jesus
All I need is a WORD from God
All I need is a WORD from Jesus
All I need is a WORD from God

I mean what else does one need in the world but the word? For all the things in the world are under the control of the word! Hebrews 1:1-3 tells us, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power'

Everything in the word is under the control of the word! And this is why when we face negative circumstances in our lives and in the world we live we know we can always turn the tide and change our world by the word! it's always about getting that one word that we change our world for indeed one word from God can turn around our world!

Change is birth on the platform of the word! There is transformative power in the word of God! We are told in 2 Corinthians 3:18, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord". We behold his glory as in a GLASS and the more we look on that glass the more the transformative power of the glass changes us from glory to glory! Hallelujah!

James in chapter 1:23 liken the word of God to glass which I believe was what Paul was referring to earlier in 2 Corinthians. James 1:23 tells us, "For if any be a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is *like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed". In other words, as we look into the word we are changed by the word!

Indeed, one word from God can change your world!

In Genesis 1:1-3 we were told that darkness ruled, even though the light was God's desire! However the word went into action, and change was birth! Heaven and earth were never the same again once the word of God went into work producing glorious change. At the end of the seventh day, God saw what the word has produced and he said it was very good! What was void soon became good all because of the transformative and changing power of the word of God! The ancient word still changes lives today!

I remember again some lyrics of the powerful song by Michael W Smith

Words of life, words of hope
Give us strength, help us cope
In this world, where ever we roam
Ancients words will guide us Home

Ancient words ever true
We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart

The ancient word changes and impact lives!

Until the coming of the word they were in distress but once the word came the situation of their lives were redressed. Distressed by the world but redressed by the word, God's word can add color to our world!

Psalm 107:19-20 talked of the story of a people distressed. They were diseased distressed and in affliction. They wanted changes in their lives! And God answered by sending his word and that word wrought change in their lives! The passage reads, "Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions"

Until the coming of the word they were in distress but once the word came the situation of their lives were redressed. Distressed by the world but redressed by the word, God's word can add color to our world!

One word from God can change your world!

I remembered a time when it looks like it will be difficult to get married. I was counting a streak of five broken relationships, all of them ended by the other party. And the end of the relationship always comes at the point when we are getting set to announce marriage plans. And on one of those days as I was 'eating' the word, a word was fired into my heart from Romans 8:32, "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?". The ancient word has spoken, if God can give me his only begotten son, he won't have a problem giving me a wife - one of his many daughters! Less than a year after receiving that word, I got married to the glory of God! Eighteen years on and the union is getting better! This is how the word of God changes our world, ancient words ever true and always changing us inside out.

The Centurion in Matthew 8 understands the power of just one word. Here was what he told Jesus in Matthew 8 when he needed healing for his servant, "The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed". The spoken revelation brought about a turnaround of the situation! The revelation of the word changes our situation in the world! And your encounter with that revelation begins with your desire for it!

Lord send me a word that will change my world. Amen.
