Satan is in the full-time ministry of creating deaf ears and blind hearts and the end goal of his ministry is to prevent an understanding of the word and without an understanding of the word there is no access to light and without light, there is alienation from the life of God! However God will not stand by and watch; he sent us His Spirit to bring us into understanding. What natural ears cannot comprehend and natural hearts cannot understand the Spirit of God can unravel and teach!
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 tells us of this, "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God". The deep things of God are revealed to us by the Spirit of God! The great things that God has in stock for us can only be accessed by the revelation of God's spirit. The riches of God are embedded in his word, and they are revealed by the searchlight of the Holy Spirit!
Experiencing the riches of the word makes us rule over our world! However, we access these riches of the word by spiritual understanding and spiritual understanding comes by the spiritual revelation which only the Spirit of God can impart. There are different methods to studying the word of God, however reading and studying the word will not bring revelation and understanding without the revelatory work of the Holy Spirit. This is why in this installment I will dwell on how we engage the Spirit of God for revelations!
There is a spiritual phenomenon in the old testament days that still has much relevance today and we found this in Ezekiel 1:2, "In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity, The word of the Lord came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him". Here in this place, Ezekiel without much ado, after been touched by the hand of God receive the word of God expressly! And this became the pattern for Ezekiel's ministry, the word of the Lord coming expressly to the prophets. In Ezekiel 3:16 we read again, "And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying". Today God is still sending his words to those who have developed the spiritual frequency on which they are sent. Psalm 107:20 tells us that 'He SENT his WORD...'. Also in Isaiah 55:10-11 we are told, "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it". All these scriptures confirm that God is still sending his word on spiritual frequencies to those who are tuned in the Spirit to receive!
How does this work? Most of the spiritual revelation I have received in my life and ministry have always been " sent". It has always been like the Ezekiel experience, the word of the lord coming 'expressly' to me. Yes, there are times you seat and study the word and pour over your notes and concordance and the topical bible and all other bible study tools. These are great things to do and are rewarding, however, some of the most powerful revelations of the word have come to me in the bathroom, on the road, and during moments of prayers. By inspiration, the Spirit of God always floods my heart with the revelation of the word! Could this be what Elihu meant in Job 32:8, "But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding". Through spiritual inspiration, we receive spiritual illumination and understanding!
Inspiration is the spiritual channel through which the spirit of God floods our heart with a spiritual understanding of God and his word!
There is a scripture in Isaiah that acknowledges the place of physical teachers and methods in accessing the understanding of the word. We found this scripture in Isaiah 30:20-21, "And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left". This scripture talks about the voice from behind, the voice of revelation, the voice of the Spirit showing us unto the path of understanding, this is the spiritual 'express' through which the word of the lord comes to us!
Like an avalanche when the Spirit of God floods our heart with inspiration we receive in instant revolutionary spiritual truths that changes our lives forever!
The work here is to always get ourselves on that spiritual frequency where we can always receive the sent word of God! This is the work for us as believers, to always walk in the lane of inspiration and one of the ways we do that is by praying in the Spirit.
Jude 20 lends us some insight, "But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost". By praying in the Holy Ghost Jude tells us we are building up our faith in God and his word. But if you read earlier in Romans 10:17 Paul told us that faith can only come by the word. These two scriptures look to say different things but actually, those who have walked both paths will understand the spiritual connection. Each time we pray in the Holy Ghost we put our heart on the channel of inspiration where the Spirit of God can bring spiritual truths that hitherto are unknown into our hearts and as we come to this understanding our faith is built up for greater spiritual exploits!
In more graphical terms, each time I pray in the Holy Ghost I have more than often receive understanding as to the inspiration of the Almighty during the moment of prayers begin to throw the searchlights on certain scriptures and begin to give greater understanding and light on those scriptures. The spiritual effect of this is that my faith is recharged for greater exploits! This is how Jude 20 works practically in our lives, the tongue praying session ought to be a session of spiritual illumination and understanding! Our hearts though unfruitful during this prayer session should be focused on God and his word and in such moment we begin to receive greater lights that help us build up 'our most holy faith'.
Sometimes we don't receive this understanding at the moment we are praying, but praying in the Spirit helps to connect our heart on that spiritual lane where the word of God can 'expressly' come to us! This is why to build up our faith we must receive more understanding of the word and to receive more understanding of the word we must be supernaturally enlightened by the Spirit of God. And one way we get ourselves on the spiritual lane always is by praying in the Holy Ghost! We must henceforth approach this spiritual exercise with this understanding, praying in the spirit opens up our heart to an understanding of the riches of the word.
