EXPERIENCING THE WORD: REVELATION BY IMPARTATION

The Holy Spirit is the "principal revelator" of scriptures but we engage his ministry as our thoughts dwell on his word! This is done through meditation. Meditation, therefore, connects us to revelation. David testified to the power of meditation in Psalm 119:97,99 "O how to love me thy law! it is my meditation all the day. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation". David's thought dwelt extensively on the word until the word begins to affect his world. Still despite all of David's understanding and meditation he confessed to not knowing some things! Some things were simply beyond his meditations and understanding.

Psalm 73 lends us some insights on the struggles of the Psalmist to know certain things.

"Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious at the foolish when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men....... Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain and washed my hands in innocence. For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning. If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; (Psalms 73:1‭-‬5‭, ‬12‭-‬16 KJV).

This was the focus of the meditation for the Psalmist, the prosperity of the wicked. He deliberated all day about how the so-called bad people are making headway and the righteous seem to lag behind. And then he got to a point he admitted that trying to understand this subject was too painful for him. However, something happened in the next verse, "Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end" Psalms 73:17 KJV.

The Psalmist went to church and that which he has struggled to know was made plain unto him!

We receive revelation by meditation, but also we receive revelation by spiritual impartation or elucidation from our spiritual teachers! The Psalmist went into the sanctuary, and as the priest began to speak the Psalmist began to receive an understanding on that which he has found difficult before. The Bible tells us in Malachi 2:7, "For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts". This is principally the calling of everyone called into the five-fold ministry, to impart spiritual understanding for the spiritual equipment and edification of the saint! This is the heart of Paul's discourse in Ephesians 4:11-14, "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning fables, whereby they lie in wait, to deceive"

Through the ministry of our God-ordained spiritual teachers, we gain a deeper understanding of the word that brings us into a mature relationship with God. We are no longer tossed by every doctrine in the world because the spiritual understanding we have received by impartation has brought us to the stature of the fullness of Christ!

This scenario we have with the Psalmist in the old testament also has a new testament analog in Acts 8. The Ethiopian Eunuch was reading some portion of the scriptures and did not understand what he was reading and then the Spirit of God moved Phillip to draw near unto the man. "And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him, Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. (Acts 8:30‭-‬31‭, ‬35‭-‬38 KJV)

Phillip began at the same scripture. The same scripture that has offered little or no insight suddenly busted into life through the ministry of anointed 'revelators'. The floodgate of revelation was opened, the understanding was released, spiritual ignorance was removed and salvation was delivered! This is how revelation comes through spiritual impartation via the ministry of anointed teachers and prophets!

Jeremiah 3:15-16 tells us in no uncertain terms what the ministry of these anointed men will be: "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding". This is the ordination and commission for the men of the five-fold ministries, they are anointed to be our spiritual guide into spiritual truths of the word! They are not just to pray for us, prophesy on us, declare things on us, principally they are to open our eyes to great truths that will provoke breakthroughs!

In our quest to experiencing the word, revelation is our gateway and access to that realm. And one of the gateways to revelation is through the spiritual impartation of truths. Isaiah 9:8 says, "The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel". There are men went with the word to lighten our world when you meet such men, and today there are many of them, they will take your understanding of the word to another level where you begin to experience its reality! Like Paul said in Ephesians 3:1-10, his ministry is to make all men see so that when they see they will begin to seize that which belongs to them. I pray that from this hour you will begin to see wondrous things out of the word that will change your world. Amen.

Through the ministry of our God-ordained spiritual teachers, we gain a deeper understanding of the word that brings us into a mature relationship with God. We are no longer tossed by every doctrine in the world because the spiritual understanding we have received by impartation has brought us to the statute of the fullness of Christ!
