DEEPER WALK: Spirit Life Devotional(Day 1)

TODAY’S TEXT: “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul".

Spiritual intimacy is the basis for increased spiritual capacity, for the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. And the more this people seek to know their God the stronger they become and the more exploits they can do(Daniel 11:32). In other words, the result of a deeper walk with God is greater works on the earth. This is the essence of the 30 days prayer program that we are starting today. Let me establish that this is a personal walk and choice to deepen our relationship with God.

We take root downward in other to bear fruits upward. This is the spiritual formulae for ascending unto new heights in God. Sometimes real growth begins by going back to the fundamentals. And this is what we will do from today as we start on our 30 days adventure of a deeper walk with God! We will go back to the basics and rebuild our walk and spirit with God. Our challenges in life may be physical but our make up as a people is essentially spiritual. This is where our real being is formed and it's also the source of our power!

When God created man at the beginning, after all, that he did one thing was needed to complete the job. Genesis 2:7 tells us,

"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul".

There were two major parts to the creation of man, the formation part and the impartation part. The formation was the physical process of creation where God formed and fashioned man physically and structurally. This is where he determines that the head will be up and the feet down, this is where all the physical and structural makeup of man was designed. Still with all of this man wasn't complete and still nonfunctional. Then came the impartation part: He put his spirit into a man!

God breathed into man His Spirit, and man became a living soul. At the impartation of God's Spirit, man became energized, living, functional and powerful! And somehow everything man as created as a machine has followed the same formulae, there is the physical component and there is the power source! Almost every machine, devise, technology created works on this model: there is a power source that makes things work and functional. For us as God's creation, our Spirit is the essence of our being and our power source for functional and successful living.

When the devil came in the garden of Eden his work was well defined, to erode our power source, to disconnect us from the Spirit of God. And this is why when Jesus came he declared his mission, " I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly"(John 10:10). He came to restore life, and that's what happens at new birth: there was the restoration of our spirit.

Jesus describing the new birth experience in John 3:6,

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is a spirit".

We are born of the Spirit and so essentially we are a spirit! A new birth, we experienced restoration of our spirit and at the Holy Ghost baptism, we experienced the activation of our spirit as we receive the Holy Ghost impartation on it for earthly manifestations!

This will be the crux and focus of our 30 days devotional: the spiritual recalibration of our spirit man and we will do that as we pray in the Spirit every day, and re-examined some basic truths from the word of God. I believe in the next 30 days God will breathe anew upon our spirit, soul, and body!

Psalm 104:24 tells us, "Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth".

The Spirit of God creates, the Spirit of God renews. From today you will experience spiritual renewal in every area of your life. Amen.

TODAY’S PRAYER: Lord renews my spirit these 30 days. Let your Spirit breathe afresh upon my heart and let my soul comes alive anew. Amen

THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: For us as God's creation, our Spirit is the essence of our being and our power source for functional and successful living
