DEEPER WALK: A Spirit life Devotional(Our Hidden weapon)

No teaching series on this blog has ended definitively, and that is the same way it's going to be with this series on the DEEPER WALK. The Bible tells us that 'we know in part' and this is why revelation is progressive in nature., a little here, a little there, line upon line and precept upon precept. This is how God builds up his church on the knowledge of the truth. No matter how much we know revelational knowledge will always unfold new vistas of God's wisdom. Hence the need to keep an open heart always to learn fresh wisdom from the heart of God. Even Paul at the height of his knowledge and power still cried that 'he may know him and the power of his resurrection.'

Today I will write one more installment on the DEEPER WALK series and leave it opened like every other teaching on this blog for more additional blog posts in the future. Thanks for reading along thus far. I believe this series will bring us into the deeper and greater experience with the power of God. Amen.

Some of my best movies tend to end in a particular way I have discovered. I always love the dramatic ending where the villain or the major antagonist in a movie doesn't know what was coming for him or her. In the last scene or fight to end the movie, the balance of the proceeding seems delicately poised until a hidden and secret weapon is deployed by the major actor that deals a fatal blow to the head of the enemy. This weapon that deals the fatal blow was all along hidden until it was deployed in a surprising moment to tilt the balance of power and victory. The enemy never saw it coming! The enemy didn't know all along what was been cooked for him!

When Christ died on the cross of Calgary and crushed Satan and his kingdom, the enemy never saw it coming. Paul gave us insight into what transpires, 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 tells us:

"Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory"

God's hidden wisdom brought open shame to the devil! God's hidden weapon brought total defeat to the enemy! For if the devil knew what God was cooking all along he wouldn't have played along with the script.

The keyword here is KNOWLEDGE, the devil didn't know and then suffered loss. This is why what you don't know has power over you! This is why what you don't know rules over you! The devil doesn't know the power and the wisdom of the resurrection and he watched it happen to his own detriment. There is something else the devil doesn't know too, it is the art and the power of praying in tongues!

1 Corinthians 14: 2 says, "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries".

In other words, this scripture is telling us each time you pray in tongues only God knows! Hallelujah! So you can list praying in tongues as one of the hidden wisdom of God that none of the princes of this world knows! You can list praying in tongues as one of the hidden weapons that can deal a fatal blow to the head of the enemy!

This hidden wisdom of God is our hidden weapon against the enemy. This hidden mystery of tongue is our secret assault against the enemy.

The Bible expounds in detail through the mouth of Apostle Paul the weapons of our warfare. In Ephesians 6:13-18 we have Paul full discourse on this subject but we will focus on verses 17-18.

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints"

Paul after listing some weapons from verse 13 which by nature are defensive got to verse 17-18 and added one more defensive weapon and then our major offensive weapon, which is the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT. Now, look at this verse closely the sword of the Spirit is not just the word of God but also praying in the Spirit, for both of them are mentioned in the same breath and joined together by a colon. Take the sword of the Spirit and this means the word of God and the ability to pray all kinds of prayer in the Spirit! It is not surprising then that the sword of the Spirit has a double edge to it!

In Hebrews 4:12 the Bible tells us that the word of God is like a double-edged sword. The first edge of the sword is when we quote the word against the onslaught of the enemy. This the devil knows and understands. The other edge is the hidden part of the sword, the other edge that is not always obvious, it is the part where we pray the word in tongues, the part where we pray in the Spirit!! This is the part the devil doesn't know anything about, it is the part that deals a fatal blow to the head of the enemy!

When Jesus was confronted by the devil in Luke 4 we see one edge of the sword been used. But as you would have seen from this passage the devil understands the word. He did well in some places to counter Jesus using the same word. How many of us have experienced this in spiritual warfare where you quote one word and another word jumps at you to counter the word you just quoted. Sometimes it's the devil putting a spin on the word, quoting it out of context to nullify the effect of the first word! This is the first edge of our spiritual weapon, it's the part that the devil sees and knows. The part that he doesn't see or know about is the part where we pray the word in tongues and in the Spirit!

The devil can counter the word but the devil cannot counter tongues for it is the hidden wisdom of God ordained for our glory! For when we speak in tongues the devil is at loss, but God is at work to put the devil out of work in our lives! For he that speaketh in tongues speaketh not unto man but unto God. Howbeit in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries which no one understands, including the devil!

The first edge of the sword of the Spirit is speaking the word, the other side is praying the word in the spirit, for am sure that is what majorly happens when we pray in the Spirit, we not only pray our desires we also pray the word of God into our situations and lives. This is the hidden wisdom and hidden weapon that the devil dreads and so through the church history no subject is hot as debated or as divisive as that of praying in tongues! Personally, I can give you countless experiences to show how the enemy has been confounded in my life with this weapon, but with or without my experience the word of God validates itself. It is self-proving and needs no proof. And we step into it's a reality by faith!

This hidden wisdom will give you unforeseen victories over the enemy! Stand up and get into that deeper walk with God as you fellowship in the Spirit, reading the Word, praying in the Spirit and worshipping in the Spirit. And as this keeps up you will find yourself going deeper in God's water of His power and glory. Amen.
