Corona this, corona that! I won't be surprised if the word Corona has been used more than the word Jesus in the past one month or so, because naturally, but I have no statistic for this, I believe the word JESUS, to be the most used word in our world, not just by believers but by everyone. One out every three 'exclamatory' word that comes out of the mouth of an average person when confronted with a fearful or scary situation is the word, JESUS! Sometimes some folks pronounced this as CHISOS! Well, that pronunciation is peculiar to us here in Nigeria.

Corona, Covid-19 has taken over the news, the airwaves, the social media, and even discourse in the local parlance. Let's have some bit of statistics to show what we are dealing with. Ever since its outbreak this disease has spread to over 150 nations of the world with a total case of 198,178 reported so far. Of these figures, 81,729 have been reported to have recovered while so far 7,965 people have died. In the last 24 hours, there were 809 fresh deaths recorded. The fear is palpable everywhere. And there may be genuine reasons for this. Of the 198,178 people that have been infected, 7965 people have been reported dead which when you look at the figure portends about 4% of the reported cases. What am about to say will not happen but imagine for a second if the whole world were to get infected, 7billion with a 4% death rate, what figures would we have in our hands? That's like 280 million potential deaths! This potential death figure far surpasses the deaths recorded during both world war 1 and 2. This is why presently the world is at WORLD WAR 3. This is why there is so much panic, this is why the nations of the world are shutting down. It's not about what's happening now but about what may happen if this is not shut down on time.

Someone said in the "51 years of his entire life" he has never seen anything disrupt the world order as what we have now. And that for me is true. One virus is shutting the world down. Should we begin to list how many nations are shutting down their borders? Let's not repeat all of that here. This war is so tense that giving a handshake these days is difficult. Even during wars opposing sides still shake hands when they meet for negotiations. This is the state of our world at present with COVID-19 ruling! But I am here writing to you about another COVID(Christ Over Virus, Infections and Disease) and it's the title of my new series beginning from today! Let me say here that the latter COVID is superior to COVID-19.  Christ is superior to every crisis on the earth! Pardon me, that's not a cliche it's the living reality of those who look to Him, for they look unto him they were lightened and their faces were not ashamed!

But look at the world today as it is, there is darkness everywhere! Even the world superpower is confounded, confused, bemused and embarrassed! And when I look at my Bible I saw a scripture that paints the present darkness we are in today.

Isaiah 60:2 tells us, "For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon there"

This is gross darkness spreading all over the nations! It was even reported that a coronavirus conference was canceled because of coronavirus! How so funny? The health impact is showing in the number of infected cases which are rising by 10% per day. What will unfold in the coming days may be that of the economic impact? Let's not go there, but like the Bible has said, "gross darkness" is covering the nation. But that is not where the narrative end, that is not where the prophecy ends. The later part of that scripture started with the word, "BUT", and the word BUT changes the direction of every statement!

Isaiah 60:2b, "but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon there"

Even in this hour of great darkness, there is a promise from the word: GOD SHALL ARISE UPON YOU, AND HIS GLORY(NOT COVID-19) shall be SEEN OVER YOU!

Over you and your household, God's glory will emerge this season! God's glory is what will be seen over you and not Covid!

However, before that scripture in verse 2, there was one in verse 1 and that scriptures tell us our responsibilities as believers and also define for us our prophetic role in this time that the world is in crisis!

Isaiah 60:1 tells us, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon thee"

Our light is needed in the time of darkness! For the world, as it is is the season to panic for us it is the season to shine! This is the time for us believers to be the stabilizing effect, the calming effect on our world, may we never lose our wonder.

Jesus speaking in Matthew 5:13-16 reiterated this truth,

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.   Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.   Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.   Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Are we losing our savor? Where is our light for this is the time to shine! This is the time to speak peace in the midst of confusion, to speak life in the midst of death! Let us leave science to scientists, let us leave corona information to the world, there are enough of that going around already, our work is to bring spiritual illumination to the world! We are not to spread the fear that is already everywhere, our work as light is to shine the light of the Lord that is yet to be everywhere!

But how can we shine that light? First, the Lord has to arise upon us: "but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee"
And I love what David said here in Psalm 36:9

"For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light"

In God's light, we shall see light! What is God's light? The Psalmist tells us in Psalm 119:105

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path"

It, therefore, means in the word we shall find light and with that light, we will illuminate our world. It depicts perfectly what prophet said in Isaiah 9:8, "The Lord sent a word unto Jacob and it hath lighted upon Israel". This is a practical demonstration of what Isaiah 60:1-3 is all about.

We will not busy ourselves with what is happening in the world, everyone knows that, but we will look to what is written in the word and from there the day star shall arise in our hearts and we will begin to shine upon our world. This was what happened to John G. Lake back then when there was an outbreak of plague in South Africa, he sat with the word, light shone from heaven, in his light he saw light, and with that light, he went out to quench the darkness in the world. God has not changed, he is the same yesterday today and forever. What has changed however is our disposition to God and his power in changing the affairs of men! But I am not ashamed of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16 KJV). Even in the midst of this gross darkness, God's power can reign supreme! For the Lord shall send forth the rod of his strength out of Zion saying rule thou in the midst of thy enemies(Psalm 110:1-2). Is Zion ready?

At the thick of darkness during the second world war, Winston Churchill said something remarkable which turn out to be true. He said still in all of this darkness around the world, 'this could yet be our finest hour'. How true that word is for us today, it's the world darkest hour, but the church finest hour! But if and only if we shut ourselves to the world, shut ourselves in the word and burst forth with the glorious revelation and light of the word to quench the darkness in the world. It's time for you and me to arise in faith for we are more than this!

To our readers around the world shut-in in compulsory or self-isolation, don't just be shut out to the world, be shut in with the word. There is no breaking news in the world, they are only to report fresh cases of the outbreak, stay with the word, eat the word until the light and the life of God begins to shine through you. The incorruptible seed of the word will swallow up every corruption in the world, including coronavirus! This is what we must give our attention to! What is written in the word will overcome what is happening in the world.

CALL TO INTERCESSION: Lord let your light shines over the darkness in our world today, let your glory be revealed. Amen.
