What a year 2020 has been! It's a year that will never be forgotten in a hurry by billions all over the surface of the year. It's the year of the pandemic or plandemic, whatever is your take on the covid-19 crisis that has engulfed the world. Besides the economic woes and crises that this has brought, which for me is the greatest impact and consequence of this covid foisted upon the earth; 2020 remain for me one of my best year ever!
It's the year that will mark the beginning of many events and crises that will culminate in the fulfillment of God's end-time agenda for the world and for his church! Personally, for me, it's been a time of spiritual renewal, revelation, and revitalization for the journey that is ahead! It's one rare year with a lot of spiritual seeds sown! Satan brought fear and darkness upon the earth but for me, it has been the year of LIGHTS AND REVELATIONS! For every article published on POWERTALK, there are tens of others there on my desk that are unpublished! There were so many lights and revelations coming from the heart of God! By reason of those Rhema, I was making some 'dangerous statements', writing some 'dangerous articles' which so many found uncomfortable and can't relate with. Many called me out on my Facebook and other social media accounts, others felt I was spiritually arrogant and prideful, but thankfully many others receive encouragement and were fired up to reach for new levels in God!
This I have discovered though through it all, that every man speaks from their spiritual levels and depths! Let me leave that thought there for now and continue with the original train of thought.
The past lockdown was not a lockdown of fear and washing of hands twenty times a day, even though one didn't leave your house, no! It was a lockdown of spiritual fellowship with the heavenly where lights and revelations were released! It was a time of crisis for the world for me it was a time to see Christ anew! While the world celebrated the virus and pay homage to it, I celebrated my Jesus, the giver of life! While others dread the power of death and live in its fear, I celebrated the power of Christ! For like the songwriter said,
NO GUILT IN LIFE, NO FEAR IN DEATH, THIS IS THE POWER OF CHRIST IN ME! FROM LIFE FIRST CRY TILL FINAL DEATH JESUS COMMANDS MY DESTINY.
NO POWER OF HELL NO SCHEME OF MAN
COULD EVER PLUCK ME FROM HIS HAND
TILL HE RETURNS OR CALLS ME HOME
HERE IN THE POWER OF CHRIST, I STAND
ON CHRIST THE SOLID ROCK I STAND ALL OTHER GROUND IS SINKING SAND ALL OTHER GROUND IS SINKING SAND
This has been my song for the year, giving in January while we were on a beautiful trip somewhere!
In the face of crisis our faith can either stand on the wisdom of men or in the power of God, I opted for the later: for God's power can save to the uttermost end of the earth for those who believe in him!
At the beginning of the year, God gave a song but also gave a word to me. He said to me to set his word always before me because in the year 2020 there are lots of events are crises that will move the heart of men and lead to FAITH FAILURE. But he assured me that as long as my eyes are on the word, nothing in the world will move me! I reproduce that scripture again here
"I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved" - Psalm 16:8
The one whom I have set before me is the one who controls the world so why should I be moved? Hebrews 1:3 tells us that he controls all things by the word!
"Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high"
Those whose lives are regulated by the revelations of the word cannot be moved by the fears in the world! This is why from day one of this crisis I resisted vehemently any attempt from the pit of hell to make me be in bondage to the spirit of fear and of death! I resisted vehemently every attack of the enemy on my FAITH, for that is what Satan was out to do this season to render our faith weak, to render the church weak! A faithless church is a weak church, indeed it's a disconnected church, for when Satan wants to get at us he attacks our faith, really a faith attack is like a heart attack, it might lead to death!
Look at these scriptures and we will end here for today!
"And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith"
- Deuteronomy 32:20
In other words, where there is no FAITH, GOD HIDES HIS FACE! And may God not hide his face from us for that signals the beginning of defeat and shame! And so when Satan wants to get at us he launches an attack against our faith! This is why Jesus told Peter that Satan is making an attempt to have you but I have prayed for you that thy FAITH FAILS NOT!
"And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren" - Luke 22:31-32
Where there is no faith God hides his face and wherever God hides his face Satan comes to play and begins to sift the saints like wheat in the field! For faith is the basis of our spiritual relationship and connection with God, hence the writer of Hebrews 11:6 penned these words
"But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him"
Anyone that comes to God, that wants to see his face, have an audience with him, MUST BELIEVE! In other words without faith in our hearts, we can have no audience with God for God hides his face where there is no faith!
Why is this so? Two scriptures we can put together here for some sort of scriptural equations and deductions.
"And he that doubteth is damned if he eats, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin"
Anything not done in FAITH is a SIN. And the scripture has this to say about SIN in the book of Habakkuk
"Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst do not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he" - Habakkuk 1:13.
God's eyes are too holy to behold sin. You can see this same truth in Isaiah 59:1-2,
"Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, that he will not hear"
Putting the two scriptures together these two thoughts and truths are established:
• Lack of faith is a SIN
• And SIN makes God to hides his face
These two scriptures establish the thought in Deuteronomy 32:20 that wherever God can't see faith he hides his face! Can you see how consistent the scripture is and how it interprets itself? Anyway, this is much clear, wherever you can't find faith at work you can never see God in action, for faith is what moves God to work. Hence Jesus always chided the disciples over their lack of faith. Read the gospels well, it's always on the issue of faith that the master always rip into the disciples, there can be no mercy on that front for where there is no faith there is no God! What is the worth of a believer who has abandoned is faith and the faith?
Note this, it's spiritual mediocrity to make excuses for our lack of faith even in times of crisis. For David said, "when my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock that is higher than I"! It is during the storms of life and crisis of life that we must seek higher ground in Christ! Or is our faith only meant to be strong during the good times only? Is faith only made for good times? Up when the times are good and down when things are challenging?
To be continued!
